open call for local artist

DEADLINE EXTENDED - OPEN CALL FOR LOCAL ARTIST

In August 2022, Homebaked Community Land Trust will begin the building phase of their project to develop Oakfield Terrace into community owned homes, businesses and social spaces.

Working with Anfield councillors, we want to celebrate this by inviting a local artist to explore the theme of ‘home and belonging for all’ in Anfield. By local, we mean anyone who lives, works, or has a significant connection to the Anfield Ward.

Artists can work in any media (visual arts, sculpture, performance, theatre, storytelling, literature, film, photography) but should engage with local residents as part of their creative process and present a public facing event or exhibition at the culmination of the project.

Project budget:
£ 1000 plus £ 500 materials budget with possibility for extension dependent on funding.
You will also have the opportunity to receive mentoring support through the duration of the project either from one of the Homebaked team or an external creative.

We expect the appointed Ward Artist will complete between 5-10 days work (dependent on experience) and engage with 5-10 local residents. The project will commence on 19th September and is expected to last approximately 6 weeks.

To apply:
Please send the following in either written or video form via email to info@homebaked.org.uk by 5pm on Friday 12th August:

- a proposal outlining your project idea and how you would deliver it in response to the theme of ‘home and belonging for all’ in Anfield. Please include with this an estimated project timeline. (max. 500 words or 3 minutes recorded)
- a CV or short bio explaining your previous work and experience working with communities (max. 1 side of A4 or 3 minutes recorded)

We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates, regardless of their race, gender, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.

If you would like the application in an alternative format or have any access needs to apply please contact Naomi at info@homebaked.org.uk
